Who can use it?

The building is run by Belhaven Surf Centre Charity board for our primary organisations which are The Wave Project, Coast To Coast Surf School, Kosa Yoga and Wilder Outdoor Education CIC and our named users Dunbar Surf Lifesaving Club; Belhaven Surf Club. Collectively these groups in partnership cover inclusive and high performance surfing and watersports, outdoor learning, environmental and safety education and health and wellbeing. This collective of organisations ensures the building is used by a wide selection of the watersports community and also local children and adults of all ages.

We also have the education room which is collectively used by the above organisations and can be hired by external groups for talks, courses and events. The hot external showers can also be used by any member of the public and watersports community 24hrs, 365 days in a year.

Since Sept 2019 this building has helped thousands of adults, young people and children with increased opportunities for participation in watersports, safety and coastal education. It’s also been involved in the partnership to help improve water safety and signage at Belhaven and surrounding beaches. Its also helped young local surfers make national surf teams and attend the world championships in Brazil and Peru. Belhaven surf centre will promote equal opportunities and inclusivity, to make it accessible to individuals from all backgrounds.
